Jesus came that you might have life and that life to the fullest extent (John 10:10). No matter what you’ve done or what you’ve gone through, Jesus can give you a new life if you will put your faith in Him.
The Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Why do you need to be saved, because you’ve sinned. So have I. We’ve all sinned. We’re all imperfect!
Romans 3:23 says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is perfect; we’re not. And the penalty of sin is death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus came and took the penalty of death for us, dying on a cross. But it didn’t end there. He rose from the grave three days later and ascended to Heaven. Thanks to His gift of salvation, we can escape the penalty of death and live a new life in Him!
To accept this gift of salvation you’ll have to be willing to stop doing some of the destructive things you’re doing. You’ll need to ask God for forgiveness and choose to live in a way that honors the sacrifice Jesus made for you. If you’re ready to do that, if you recognize you don’t make the greatest lord of your own life, if you want a fresh start, then say a simple prayer like this – just be sure to mean it!
God, I’ve sinned. I see that now. Please forgive me. I believe that Jesus paid the price for my sin, and His resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me, Jesus. Thank You for forgiving me. I’m ready to honor You with my life. Amen!
