You have just received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Awesome! Now What?

Now What?

Accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is the greatest decision you will ever make. You are on the most exciting adventure of your life! You can experience the abundant life Jesus spoke about. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I came that you might have life and that life to the fullest extent.”

So what is the next step to spiritual growth? It is so vital that you understand the need for the Bible in your life. Jesus said in Matt. 4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that God speaks.” Reading God’s word will be necessary for your new growth in Jesus and experiencing the joy filled abundant life.

Now What? Read Mark

  • Read the story of Jesus seen through the eyes and ears of Mark.  Begin with the gospel of Mark, the second book in the New Testament. Mark is an exciting and colorful fast paced book that centers in on the works of Jesus. It records His life, highlighting the miracles, signs, and wonders He performed during His time on earth.

Now What? Read Galatians

  • The next book to read is Galatians which deals with Christian liberty found through grace and faith in Jesus. God wants you free and to remain free in Him. The apostle Paul wrote this letter to keep new believers continuing in this life of grace and freedom. This book will help you avoid the snare of becoming religious and living under rules and regulations instead of the life of faith.

Now What? Read Acts

  • The third book to read is Acts which is a book of action. It is a continuation of the story of Jesus as lived by the early church believers. It tells the story of these new bold and brave Christians. It records the many outstanding and amazing things that occurred through their faith in Jesus Christ.

Now what? Talk to God

  • You are reading the Bible and that’s cool! But while you are in the Word of God, begin to speak with God. This is known as prayer. Jesus said in John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” Prayer is a two-way street as we talk to the Lord He speaks back. He speaks to us in the inner voice, the circumstances of life, through the Bible, and other people.

Now what? Get Baptized.

  • Why? Because Jesus Himself was baptized and He has told us to do the same. In Matt. 28:19 it says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Baptism is an outward act that demonstrates an inward reality. When we receive Jesus into our life, we die to our old self and live in the new person in Christ. Old things pass away and all things have become brand new. Baptism itself doesn’t save us, but it is a sign to the world we have had a spiritual birth.

Now what? Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  • There is a secondary experience with the Holy Spirit available to you. Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “You will receive supernatural power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” We receive the baptism with the Holy Spirit just like we accept Jesus by faith. Ask God to fill you to overflowing with His Spirit and you will step into a new world of power and blessing!

Now What? Go to Church.

  • The Bible says in Hebrews 10:25, “Let us not neglect our meeting together.” One of the ways we fellowship with one another is by attending church on a regular basis. Church is where life happens!

Now What? Tell others.

  • Invite others to believe in Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Acts 4:12, “There is salvation in no one else. God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” One of the best ways to lead people to Christ is to invite them to church. When we offer salvation to a person we are offering the greatest gift in life. Now go out there and spread the good news!
